E-tendering
System
In a bid to bring in transparency in its tendering process, the Delhi
Transport Corporation has implemented e-tendering system w.e.f. September, 2005.
The system enables publishing of tender notices online, receiving tender
documents, opening the prequalification, commercial and technical bids,
verification and approval of the tenders and announcement of the results on the
website.
It is an internet-based procurement facility aimed at providing higher
transparency and efficiency to DTC’s large base of vendors who transact with
the corporation in various items like diesel, tyre, automobile spare parts and
other items. The system will also bring in a reduction in processing time of
tendering and processing process.
The e-tendering system has been implemented without any capital
expenditure, in Application Service Provider Model. The system is very simple to
follow for the bidders, who can register their details on the website just like
creating an e-mail account.
